He must have seen a niche market of social networking with a limited approach of connections. It can be considered as close personal social network. In Path user can connect with only 150 people which is very limited.

Path is inspired by Oxford professor Robin Dunbar, whose research delves deeply into the number of trusted relationships humans can maintain throughout their life. As per his research Humans tend to have 5 best friends, 15 good friends, 50 close friends and family, and 150 total friends. Path is an extremely closed mobile social network application which allows it’s users to share their life with their personal friends only.

Path is headquartered in San Francisco and It was relaunch again last year. A user can share Pictures, Videos, their location and music they are listening to their friends on Path or choose to share to people on Facebook.
